VisionGuard Install Guide
Iron Fog VisionGuard™ Installation Guide
VisionGuard is designed to install like a smart security camera – with the added power of built-in fog defence. This page gives you a simple overview of setup so you can see how straightforward it is. For full wiring and safety details, use the downloadable manual below.
3 Simple Steps to Get VisionGuard Online
1. Mount the Device
Choose the room and angle you want to watch and protect. Mount VisionGuard like a normal camera – on a wall or ceiling – and point it toward the entry or area you want to defend with fog.
2. Connect Power & WiFi
Plug in the power adapter, follow the app instructions to connect VisionGuard to your WiFi network, and confirm you can see live video from your phone.
3. Arm the Fog Defence
Insert the fog cartridge, follow the manual to connect your preferred trigger (app, remote, panic switch, or alarm relay), run a quick test, and your space is ready with both vision and fog defence.
Camera + Fog in One Device
VisionGuard isn’t just another camera. It lets you see what’s happening, talk to people through two-way audio, and trigger dense, non-toxic fog in seconds when something isn’t right – all from a single device.
See and verify
Live HD video and motion alerts let you check in from anywhere. You can verify what’s happening before you trigger fog.
Speak and warn
Use two-way audio to speak directly through VisionGuard. Tell delivery drivers where to drop a package – or warn intruders that fog is about to deploy.
Fog on demand
When it’s time to act, trigger fog instantly from the app, remote, panic switch, or alarm integration. Within seconds, the room fills with fog and intruders lose visibility.
High-Level Installation Walkthrough
Step 1 — Pick the Right Location
Choose a spot that gives you both a clear camera view and effective fog coverage: an entryway, main hallway, small shop floor, or office. VisionGuard works best when it covers the path intruders must take to reach valuables.
Step 2 — Mount VisionGuard
Install the bracket on a solid surface using the included screws. Attach the device to the bracket and angle it so the camera sees the area you want to monitor and the fog nozzle points toward open space, not into a wall or window.
Step 3 — Connect Power
Plug the power adapter into a suitable outlet and connect it to VisionGuard. The LED indicator will guide you through the startup process (see the PDF manual for exact light codes and timings).
Step 4 — Set Up the App
Follow the manual to download the compatible app, add VisionGuard to your WiFi network, and link it to your account. Once connected, you can view live video, receive motion alerts, and configure notifications.
Step 5 — Load the Fog Cartridge
Open the fog compartment, insert the cartridge as shown in the manual, and make sure it is fully seated. Close the compartment securely. Only use approved Iron Fog cartridges for correct performance and safety.
Step 6 — Choose Your Trigger Mode
VisionGuard can be triggered in several ways, depending on how you want to run your system:
- In-app trigger — manually trigger fog from anywhere via the app.
- RF remote / panic button — trigger instantly from inside the building.
- Alarm relay — integrate with an existing alarm so fog fires automatically on an intrusion signal.
- Automations — advanced users can create rules inside the app ecosystem (where supported).
The full PDF manual shows the exact terminal layout and wiring for each trigger option.
Step 7 — Run a Test
Before going live, follow the test procedure in the manual. Confirm you have video, audio, and a working fog trigger path. You can run a non-fog test or a limited fog test in a controlled environment to verify coverage.
Step 8 — Arm and Monitor
Once tested, VisionGuard stands ready. Use the app to arm motion alerts, check in while you’re away, and trigger fog instantly if an intruder appears.
