How it Works

Solid-State Cold Fog Technology

Zero Visibility. In Seconds.

Iron Fog isn't a traditional fog machine. It is a high-speed security deterrent that uses a non-toxic, pyrotechnic "cold fog" process to stop intruders in their tracks.

Why It’s Different

Cold Fog vs. Traditional Fog

Most fog machines require 5–10 minutes of "warm-up" time and a constant power source to keep a heater hot. Iron Fog requires no pre-heating. It sits in a low-power standby mode for months and can trigger 100% of its power in less than a second.

The Performance Stats

  • Trigger Time: ~1 Second
  • Deployment Duration: 15–20 Seconds
  • Coverage: Up to 150m³ (approx. 660 sq ft)
  • Persistence: Lingers for 30–45 minutes

How It Works in an Emergency

01. TRIGGER

The system receives a signal via the Tuya App, an RF Remote, or a hardwired relay from your existing alarm panel.

02. DEPLOY

The single-use canister activates, instantly releasing its entire volume of dense, dry fog to saturate the room.

03. SECURE

Visibility is removed. The intruder is forced to retreat. Once clear, simply ventilate the room and replace the cartridge.

Understanding the Consumables

To maintain the "Instant-Start" capability without pre-heating, Iron Fog utilizes a single-use cartridge system.

One Deployment per Cartridge

Once triggered, a cartridge releases its full capacity to ensure maximum protection. It cannot be "turned off" mid-deployment or reused.

Rapid Reset

After an event, simply unscrew the spent canister and lock in a new one. Your system is back online in seconds.

Tip: We recommend purchasing a bundle that includes a "Test Cartridge" so you can verify coverage and still have a fresh unit for live protection.

Quick Mechanics FAQ

Does it need to be plugged in?

The Iron Fog Core uses a 12V power adapter (included). Because it doesn't need to keep a heater hot, it has a very low power draw (0–24W) and some models can even run on AA battery power for backup.

Will the fog leave a residue on my property?

No. Iron Fog uses a "dry" pyrotechnic deployment rather than an oil-based fluid. The resulting fog is non-corrosive and designed to dissipate completely. Once the area is ventilated, there is no cleanup required and no damage to electronics, textiles, or furniture.

How long does the fog stay in the air?

In a sealed room with no ventilation, the fog will maintain near-zero visibility for 30–45 minutes. Opening windows or doors will clear the fog much faster.
